French Coast to Canal du Midi

After the Argens Lock we entered what they call 'the big pound' which is over 54km without locks. That gave us plenty of practice manoeuvering the boat under bridges and passing larger canal boats. Time to relax! There were small villages like Roubia, Paraza and Ginestas which we could stop at and sample wines or local produce. We went under the historical canal bridge, Repudre, built by Paul Riquet himself, the engineer responsible for the Canal du Midi. It was completed in 1676. The first canal bridge in France and 2nd in the world.
